About Us
We Strive to provide an engaging, safe and creative envoironment for students by offering exciting experiences in musical theatre and drama productions. Our goal is to inspire and strengthen self-confidence, individual expression, and theatre performance skills, while also developing life-long values, teamwork, and the love of performing live theatre for comunity. The Acting Troupe of Lambert is designed to hone the vocal, acting and dance skills set of students who have the desire, discipline, and passion for performing. We strive to saturate our students in all aspects of the theatre, allowing them to gain experience with:
- Acting Techniques
- Blocking
- Vocal Techniques
- Choreography
- Ensemble Building
- Character Analysis & Development
- Stage Management, Lighting Design
- Costume Design, Sound Design
- Set Design & Construction
- Direction
In order to provide this saturation and in order to provide as many opportunities that we do, our performances are class-based. Students wanting to participate in performances of our main-stage show must audition for class placement, and then once in the class, they will audition for specific roles in the class show. Our Tech theatre class will also work on every show in class as well as portfolio projects and craft skills and are required to participate as a crew member in one show during the year. Our introduction acting class is our only class that does not require after school rehearsals or have a guaranteed performance opportunity – it is a great class for the theatre curious student who may have a full plate of other commitments but still wants to have the fun, exploration, and collaboration of the theatre experience. We encourage our students to create and participate in student run performances either through the ATL club or Improv and hope to facilitate these opportunities as we continue to evolve our program.
ATL is a diverse, inclusive, and equitable program committed to a nondiscriminatory approach and provide equal opportunity for all students. We cultivate a positive family atmoshpere and a place for students to be themselves.

Emily McMullan
(Technical Director, Theatre Tech I, II, III)
Born in Conyers, GA, Emily spent her formative years right here in Suwanee GA. She was in the first 8th grade class of Riverwatch Middle School and graduated from South Forsyth High School right down the road. There was a brief existence in Natchitoches Louisiana, but it was too humid to remember.
Once Emily left the war eagle nest, she landed at Georgia College and State University. There she earned a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre, specializing in technical theatre while also earning the right to say she worked props for Honey Boo Boo during two years of its time on air. While at GCSU, she also earned her Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in teaching. Upon her graduation, she presented a study that focused on blending the Kinesthetic practices of Theatre into the Mathematics classroom in order to alleviate math anxiety in children. During her time at GCSU, she was the head of the Props Department for three years, Props Master for Anything Goes, while also spending time board operator, stage managing, costume making, and set building for shows over the years. Her greatest fun was being chosen for a T.A. position in StageCraft and managing the off-site set building shop during her later years at the college.
In 2017 McMullan began her career of teaching in Savannah, GA at Woodville Tompkins Technical and Career High School. This was a school with no fine arts program within its walls. No arts class, music, chorus, or theatre. There she focused on helping her students gain confidence in their math skills while assisting her husband as he was a band director at a neighboring school. While teaching in Savannah, Emily enrolled into Georgia Southern University and earned her Masters of Arts in Teaching. During her years in Savannah, Emily spent time acting with the Richmond Hill Community Theatre.
In 2021, McMullan and her family moved up to Canton GA and began her work at Lambert. It’s certainly an experience to teacher her Mother’s former students, as some have been taught by Mrs. Mary Harper who taught at Sharon Elementary for 13 years. There were three long years of Miss M complaining about her hour long drive, and now she can happily say that her family of her husband John and her hoard of pets have happily settled 25 minutes away. 2024 marks Emily’s second year in experiencing the joy in working in the theater once more.
